In a sensational revelation, actress Sharon Stone has unveiled the disturbing pressure she faced from producer Robert Evans to engage in a sexual relationship with her co-star Billy Baldwin during the filming of the 1993 movie Sliver.
Stone, 66, disclosed this information on Louis Theroux’s podcast, recounting how Evans summoned her to his office and suggested that sleeping with Baldwin would enhance their on-screen chemistry.
Stone, who had achieved massive success with Basic Instinct the previous year, expressed her frustration with the situation, stating that Evans blamed her for the film’s problems and insisted that she engage in a sexual relationship with Baldwin to salvage the movie.
Sharon told Evans he could that himslef
Despite these demands, Stone refused, emphasizing that her job was to act, not to engage in such activities. “Now you think if I f*ck him, he will become a fine actor? Nobody’s that good in bed,” the actress stated to Theroux.
“I felt they could have just hired a costar with talent, someone who could deliver a scene and remember his lines. I also felt they could f*ck him themselves and leave me out of it. It was my job to act and I said so.”
That answer didn’t make her popular among studios and producers. “This was not a popular response. I was considered difficult,” Stone recalls.
Evans represented Hollywood’s darkest side
Sliver, despite falling short of expectations, grossed $280 million worldwide. Stone’s revelations shed light on the challenges and pressures faced by actors, particularly women, in the entertainment industry.
Evans, who passed away in 2019, was known for his work on films like Chinatown and The Godfather. His actions, as described by Stone, reflect a darker side of Hollywood where power dynamics often lead to exploitation and coercion.
Stone’s bravery in speaking out against these practices is commendable, and her story serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up against abuse and harassment in any industry.
