Bruce Willis‘ wife, Emma Heming Willis, has put an end to the ongoing debate about whether “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie. She shared a glimpse of their family’s holiday celebration on Instagram, showing a younger Bruce Willis holding a gun and dressed in John McClane’s iconic white tank top, set to the tune of Run-DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis.” Captioning the photo, Heming Willis, 45, wrote, “Us too.”

The action flick, which also features the late Alan Rickman as the villainous Hans Gruber, has been a subject of debate regarding its status as a Christmas movie. Despite not appearing in the photo, Willis’ presence was felt through a stocking labeled “Dad” hanging from the mantel.

Earlier this year, Willis‘ family announced his retirement following a diagnosis of aphasia, and later with frontotemporal dementia. In a joint statement, his loved ones expressed relief at finally having a clear diagnosis and highlighted the impact of FTD, a disease many are unfamiliar with.

They shared: “Bruce has always found joy in life – and has helped everyone he knows to do the same. It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us.”

Emma has been open about Bruce’s condition

Emma Heming Willis has opened up about the challenges they face with Willis’ condition, expressing uncertainty about his awareness of the situation. During an interview with Hoda Kotb, she shared: “It’s hard to know.” She was joined by Susan Dickinson, CEO of the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, who explained the impact of the disease on self-insight.

Sources close to the family revealed that Willis has “good days and bad days,” with an increasing number of challenging days in recent months. The family is rallying around him, cherishing every moment together amid the uncertainty of his condition. Another source disclosed that since his diagnosis, the family has come together to support him and ensure his memory of their love remains strong.

Demi Moore has reportedly played a significant role in bringing the family together in light of Bruce’s condition. A source emphasized the unity and gratitude within the family, acknowledging the bittersweet reality of their time together being limited.
