The estranged wife of Wolverine star Hugh Jackman has spoken publicly for the first time about the split.
Deborra-Lee Furness was married to Jackman for 27 years but she has not spoken about their situation since the split was announced.
In a very odd turn of events, Furness found herself on Australian radio show ‘The Kyle & Jackie O Show’ by mistake.
Co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson looked embarrassed when they accidentally called Furness‘ number whilst live on air.
“We have actually called you by mistake, it’s ridiculous,” Sandilands told Furness, 67, Daily Mail reports.
“We didn’t mean to actually call you. But now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well.”
“Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You’re really sweet,” Furness responded, appearing to be unfazed by the surprise call.
“I just feel it’s too soon,” Sandilands added. “I don’t want to get involved in anything. But we love you, and you ring us when you want to chat.”
Jackman’s comments on the split
Jackman has been slightly more vocal so far than Furness about the situation but he has still not revealed a great deal about what went down and what the current situation is.
Earlier this month, “The Greatest Showman” actor was approached by a cameraman on the streets of NYC just one day after news of the pair’s split came to light.
“I don’t feel quite right talking about it on the street,” Jackman told the pap. “But I appreciate your thoughts, man.”
“It’s a difficult time.”
“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the couple told People.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”
