‘EXHAUSTING’ Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez branded ‘fake’ as fans think actor looks like he’s ‘crying’ despite smiling in new photos
NEW photos of Ben Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, have sparked mixed reactions from fans.
On Sunday, the husband/wife duo were spotted together on a drive across California.
In the snapshots, Ben and Jennifer, also known as JLo, seemed to be in good spirits amid rumors of their marital struggles.
The two were inside a gray car while the Argo filmmaker, 51, sat in the driver’s seat as they left a family event in Brentwood.
With the windows down, the couple slowed down and smiled for the cameras.
At one point, Ben held up his phone and turned the screen slightly toward the camera lens.
On the cell screen, it appeared as if Jennifer, 54, was calling Ben despite sitting right next to him in the car.
A photo of the Selena star with the caller ID labeled “Jennifer Affleck” was visible.
It suggested that Jennifer had taken his last name.
In an online thread, critics slammed the snaps for supposedly being staged while fans claimed the Batman actor looked teary-eyed despite smiling.
“[Ben and Jennfier] are the high school couple that can’t exist without drama. It’s exhausting!” one person blasted.
“[Ben] looks like he’s about to cry! I always say I have a resting depressed face even when I’m smiling,” another shared.
“Oh come on, guys! At least make it seem less staged! Why am I amused by all these updates?” one user trolled.
Bennifer 2.0: Trouble in Paradise?
“Ben is a classic introvert who abhors life in the public eye. It must not be easy for him,” another suggested.
“It’s possible nothing was wrong. It’s possible they had a very bad, potentially relationship-ending fight and then patched it up,” a commentator chimed.
STICKING TOGETHER?
This is not the only time the famous couple has been seen together since the rumors of martial woes.
As the rumors swirled, Ben and Jennifer supported his youngest child’s school play.
Last Thursday, in photos obtained by InTouch Weekly, the Gone Girl actor sat in the driver’s seat of his luxury SUV while his current wife and child entered the car.
The Jenny From The Block singer “didn’t glam up like the last time she came to a school function,” a source claimed.
The rumors intensified as an insider claimed to Us Weekly that Ben left their $60 million mansion in Beverly Hills, California about “several weeks ago.”
Another source told the outlet that the pair started having problems “a few months ago” before Jennifer hits the road to perform in arenas.
Around the same time, an insider told The U.S. Sun that the two have not been seen together due to their personality differences.
“The ground rules are, Jennifer and Ben are allowed to go off and do projects, appearances, and work that completely don’t involve each other and definitely involve spending weeks at a time apart,” the source shared.
“These are passionate people who love to work, both of them and love to bet on themselves and the teams they have assembled around themselves over the course of decades.”
