Dolly Parton has announced that she will stop touring and spend more time at home with her husband.

Dolly Parton is well-known in both the country music and the celebrity worlds.

The Tennessee native has spent the majority of her life performing and singing, and despite this, she has become nothing short of a legend who enjoys entertaining her throng of fans.

Although she continues to release new music, the 76-year-old music legend has just announced that she will stop touring.

Dolly Parton explained her decision to stop touring in a recent interview with Pollystar. Her words were:.

Every now and then, I put on original performances. Maybe play a few shows during a festival or a long weekend. However, I no longer have any plans to start a full-fledged tour. “.

The 76-year-old country music legend will continue to write songs and focus on Carl Thomas Dean, her adoring husband.

In front of the Wishy Washy laundromat, Dolly and Carl Dean first met in 1964 in Nashville, Tennessee. At the time, Carl was 21 years old, while Dolly was 18 years old. Carl immediately picked up on the young lady’s unique quality.

According to an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dean said when they first met, “I’m going to marry that girl.”.

My second thought was, “Lord, she’s gorgeous. My existence officially began at that point. There is nothing in this world I would trade the last fifty years for. “.

Dean “holled” at Dolly when he saw her while he was sitting in his pickup truck, according to Dolly in a 1976 interview with the New York Times. However, she declined his invitation to a date. Instead, she extended an invitation to him to visit a few days later while she was watching her nephew. A love story that would last forever had just begun.

In Ringgold, Georgia, in May 1966, Dolly and Carl exchanged vows in a private ceremony. Because she had a job to consider, her record company advised them to put off their wedding. However, Dean and Dolly didn’t want to wait, so they decided to get married in Georgia rather than Tennessee so that no one would write about it there. There were only three people present: Dolly, Carl, and her mother.

Since that time, Carl and Dolly have been deeply in love. 2016 marked the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary. They decided to celebrate by choosing to renew their vows.

They’ll now spend a lot more time together.

In her interview with Pollstar, Parton went into more detail about her travels.

“I’ve been doing that all my life, and it takes a lot of time and work. I like to stay a little closer to home with my husband. We are getting older, so I don’t want to go away for more than four or five weeks at a time. There’s always a chance. I wouldn’t be happy if someone needed me while I was away. If I had to end a tour early because I had a family member at home who needed me, I would be devastated and unable to leave the fans behind. “.

The singer claims that her husband will also classify her most recent musical compositions as rock n’ roll. Actually, Parton was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in May.

When I found out that I had been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I thought, “Well, no better time to do it.”. Forever, I had wanted to do it. My husband is a huge fan of hard rock ‘n’ roll, so I’ve often thought, “One of these days I’d like to do an album basically just for him, just to kind of do it.”.

The singer is reportedly finishing up her upcoming album while also working on a Christmas special for NBC this year. As she clarified:.

You’ve been very kind to us, Dolly, so just enjoy yourself and soak it all in right now. We’ll love you forever.
