Christina Sandera, the longtime partner of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, has passed away at the age of 61.
The couple had been in a relationship since 2014.
The 94-year-old confirmed the news in a statement, writing: “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.”
No cause of death has been released, as a Warner Bros. spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter that no further information would be shared while Eastwood grieves the loss.
Eastwood and Sandera’s relationship
The two met while Sandera worked as a restaurant hostess at the Mission Ranch – Eastwood’s hotel – in Carmel, California back in 2014.
The two kept their relationship out of the spotlight, though Sandera showed her support by appearing at various awards shows and film premieres with Eastwood.
“There are other people that are involved there and they’re vulnerable people,” Eastwood told CBS News in 2004 about why he keeps his personal matters out of the headlines.
“I can protect myself, but they can’t.”
