Bruce Willis’ daughter says her fiancé dumped her after her father’s dementia diagnosis

Tallulah Willis has revealed she was dumped by her fiancé Dillon Buss just months after it was revealed her father Bruce Willis had been diagnosed with dementia

Tallulah Willis has said her fiancé dumped her less than three months after it was revealed her father Bruce Willis was diagnosed with dementia.

The 29-year-old got engaged to filmmaker Dillon Buss in May 2021, but the pair split in June last year after her family announced that Bruce had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

Tallulah said she was also struggling with a variety of mental health issues at the time including body dysmorphia and a borderline personality disorder diagnosis.

She had also battled ADHD and anorexia nervosa, which saw her weight drop to just 84lb (6 stone).”In June of last year, my boyfriend, who was by then my fiancé, dumped me,” Tallulah revealed as she opened up about her struggles.

She said her family then stepped in to help by sending her to an in-patient facility in Texas, where she was “introduced to a variety of therapies”.

Tallulah announced her engagement to Dillon back in 2021 on Instagram as she shared a series of pictures from the moment he popped the question.

She wrote: “With absolute most certainty.”

Tallulah added: “HANDS STILL SHAKIN’ — MOMS SPAGHETTI — I’m FIANCÉNCHED.”

In a new emotional essay for Vogue, Tallulah also opened up about how she suspected her father was sick “for a long time” before he received his dementia diagnosis.

Tallulah, who Bruce shares with his ex-wife Demi Moore, said the symptoms started out as “a kind of vague unresponsiveness”, which his family assumed was a result of “Hollywood hearing loss”.

She explained how they thought years of being told to “speak up” on set had messed with her father’s ears.

When Bruce’s unresponsiveness worsened, the 29-year-old said she took it to heart and thought he had simply moved on with his new family.

“Later that unresponsiveness broadened, and I sometimes took it personally. He had had two babies with my stepmother, Emma Heming Willis, and I thought he’d lost interest in me,” she admitted.
