Dolph Lundgren has been fighting cancer for eight years.
In an interview with the syndicated program “In Depth with Graham Bensinger,” which started after a tumor was found on his kidney in 2015, Dolph Lundgren revealed that he has been battling cancer for the past eight years.
Then, he continued, “I did scans every six months, then you do it every year, and, you know, for five years, it was fine.”. The “The Expendables” star went on to say that his cancer returned in 2020 as a result of an MRI for acid reflux. He continued that some additional malignancies had been found nearby.
The tumors were close to Lundgren’s kidneys as well as his stomach, lung, and spine, and his doctor reportedly told him he didn’t have long to live. According to reports, he started saying things like, “You should probably take a break and spend more time with your family.”.
However, after receiving the news of his diagnosis, the “The Punisher” star traveled to London to see a second doctor, who because of the lung cancer’s more aggressive mutation suggested a course of action. If the other treatment had been started, he claimed, “I would have had about three to four months left.”.
Lundgren reported that his tumors have fortunately shrunk by “90 percent” since starting the therapy regimen. He continued, “The idea is that when they remove these, there won’t be any cancer activity, and the medication he’s taking will inhibit everything else.”.
