Ryan O’Neil has passed away at the age of 82 after a long battle with Leukemia. O’Neil passed away on Friday after he had prostate cancer since 2012. His daughter Tatum O’Neil broke the news via Instagram.

Tatum O’Neil posted a heartfelt message on Instagram following the sensible death of his famous father “As a human being, my father was as generous as they come,” Patrick wrote. “And the funniest person in any room. And the most handsome clearly, but also the most charming. Lethal combo. He loved to make people laugh. It’s pretty much his goal. Didn’t matter the situation, if there was a joke to be found, he nailed it. He really wanted us laughing. And we did all laugh. Every time. We had fun. Fun in the sun.”

The actor was beloved by actors, directors, and critics alike, Paul Mazursky addressed O’Neal’s performance on 1996’s Faithful when he was interviewed by Vanity Fair back in 2009.
